Just 2 more days until we can begin ordering from the new Stampin' Up! catalog! Demos were able to pre-order a few things June 1st to prepare for workshops, etc. so here's a card made with one of the level one hostess sets. The flower was colored with markers in several shades of blue and a few touches of pink. Then, the flower was stamped on a piece of acetate using black StazOn and layered over the colored flower. (The glue is hidden under the pearls.) This added a lot of depth to the image.

Welcome to the 12th stop on the June 2010 VC_Rocks blog hop! VC_Rocks is a virtual celebration of the new catalog and annual convention of Stampin' Up!, my absolute favorite rubber stamp company! You may have arrived here from Lisa's Crafty Place where you saw her gorgeous tile coasters. If you didn't, and would like to see them, along with lots of other terrific artwork created by my fellow Rockers, you can start at the beginning by going here. There is so much to be excited about with the release of the 2010-11 catalog and idea book from Stampin' Up! Fresh, new colors, a wide variety of stamps, and fabulous new accessories from punches to ribbon to embossing folders. But a few of our favorite things are retiring at the same time. So before we put the current catalog away, I'd like to share a card made with one of my favorite retiring stamp sets, Embrace Life. Not only is this stamp set retiting but so are a couple of the colors used on this card, Cameo Coral and Mellow Moss.
Stamp images on Whisper White card stock with Mellow Moss ink. Color the images by picking up ink from the lid of Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, and Cameo Coral pads with a blender pen. Sponge Cameo Coral ink around the edge and adhere to Always Artichoke card stock mat. Card base is Mellow Moss with a layer of Ginger Blossom DSP on the left. Tie Mellow Moss taffeta ribbon around matted image and adhere to card front. The card design was cased from Sharon Rogers.
Thanks for stopping by! Leave a comment and be entered into a drawing for some fun blog candy! Random drawing on Monday, June 28th so be sure to check back to see if you're the winner! Your next stop along the blog hop is Mary Campbell's blog where she has a lovely and useful project for you!
