A different fold with A Nice Cuppa stamp set and coordinating Cups and Kettle framelits.  The card is a standard 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and 2 1/8".  Below is the card opened.

Our theme this month is Fabulous Folds and one of my favorite cards made with a fabulous fold is a Tri Shutter card.  It can be a little tricky to cut and score correctly but well worth the effort.  The card below was made with the retired stamp sets Dream Garden, Embrace Life, and So Happy for You, Basic Black and River Rock card stock, and the new Fancy Fan letterpress plate.  Most of the stamped images were heat embossed with either black embossing powder or a powder I bought in a local craft store called Red Dragon.  The first photo shows the front of the card.

This Graduated Accordion fold card was made using Love Letter DSP, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, and Very Vanilla card stock. The greetings are from the It's Your Birthday (retired) and On Your Birthday stamp sets and the butterfly stamps are from Flight of the Butterfly. The flourish is a $1 stamp I picked up at a local craft store. The Spiral Border punch was used on the front panel. This card was made to fit in a standard 5 3/4" x 4 3/8" envelope but can be made taller or shorter by adjusting the cuts. Here's a front view: Side view:

As promised, this bendy fold card is my design. I made it for someone who is a Tinkerbell fan. The fireworks are embossed with a red and gold glittery embossing powder called Red Dragon on Very Vanilla card stock and a little of the gold Smooch Spritz. Tink was cut and embossed from gold vellum, and the dotted paper is from a glitter stack in my stash. The sentiment was printed using a Disney font on my computer. (I have over 700 fonts...love 'em!!) The ribbon is gold organza and the card base is Tempting Turquoise card stock. Oh, and the best part about this card is that if you take the tabs out of the slots it lays flat and can be sent through the mail!

I love learning new ways to cut and fold paper to create unique cards. Here's one from Emma Fewkes that she calls a Bendy Fold card. Not hard at all to make and so much fun. I made this one just like hers to learn how to do it. I have another I'll post in a few days that is my own design.

When I saw this tutorial on SplitCoastStampers for a paper doll made with oragami paper, I had to try it. Here's my first attempt on a birthday card for my sister in law. The images from Embrace Life and In Wilderness are stamped in Wild Wasabi on Shimmer card stock. The card base is Blushing Bride.

Last weekend I attended the Creating Keepsakes convention in Louisville with my friend Julie. We've been attending scrapbooking conventions together for several years and always have a great time shopping, attending classes and crops. This year we took two technique classes - one specifically on scrapbooking and one on stamping. In the scrapbooking class we learned folded ribbon, paper weaving, 3 dimensional paper flower, and flower dying techniques. In the stamping class we made a flower and a scalloped border from a heart shaped stamp, learned to make our own patterned paper, masking, and layering. Most of the stamping techniques I already knew but still had a great time making an adorable tag book, card and envelope. Writing about different techniques made me think of this tri-fold shutter card I made so thought I'd share it with you. I love making cards with a unique or fancy fold. On this one I used SU's Sense of Time stamp set, kraft and black card stock, oval punches, brads, circular paper clips, paper flowers, and ribbon as embellishments.
