This card was inspired by one I saw on Shelli Gardner's blog. I love the new In Colors and used two of them on this card.  I also love the Elegant Bird Bigz die!  The bigz dies are able to cut so many different materials that the possible projects with it seem endless!  I can't wait to try some of the ideas I have for this one.

It's that time of year again, at least it is where I live (and work!).  I love the Greeting Cards Kids stamp set and decided to make a card using some of SU's Designer Series Paper.  This paper is the recently retired Love Letters.  The image was stamped on Very Vanilla card stock, colored with watercolor pencils and a blender pen, then punched with the retired Spiral punch.  A mini library clip was added to the top and a piece of linen thread was tied to one of the layers.  Other card stock used was Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black.  Design inspired by cards on SCS and a sketch on Operation Write Home.

A birthday card for a coworker.  The butterflies were cut and embossed from scraps in the Beautiful Wings embosslit.  Other items used were Cajun Craze and Baja Breeze card stock, Square Lattice embossing folder, Very Vintage wheel, Cajun Craze Classic ink, and Basic Pearls.

I love the Greeting Card Kids stamp set! It reminds me of images from my childhood. This card is copied from the one in the SU Idea Book and Catalog. The card base is one of the In Colors, Blushing Bride, and snowflakes from the Serene Snowflakes set was stamped in Champagne VersaMark Dazzle watermark ink to create a subtle background. The music background stamp from my stash is stamped in Basic Black on Very Vanilla card stock. The sentiment from A Cardinal Christmas is stamped in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla card stock but before I stamped the sentiment, I lightly sprayed the card stock with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz. It is punched with the Modern Label punch. The little girl is stamped in Black StazOn on water color paper and colored with Watercolor Wonder Crayons. Moonlight Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink was used to color the trim on her coat and hat and Taffy Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink was used to color the tree ornaments. Snowflakes were also stamped around her in the Champagne VersaMark ink. Other accessories used were Very Vanilla satin ribbon, Silver Glass Glitter, and Victoria Crochet Trim.

Once a month I get to stamp with Joyce Pacer, my SU upline, mentor, and friend. Since UPS had just delivered the items she pre-ordered from the holiday mini catalog Thursday evening, we spent the afternoon playing and experimenting with some of them. One of the first things we tried was the Northern Frost Decorative Strip. It cuts 8 unique snowflakes in the Big Shot. First we cut them out of white card stock shown here on Night of Navy card stock. We cut the next ones from ivory card stock. I tried adding a little shimmer to these with the gold Smooch Spritz. Seeing them on the Cherry Cobbler card stock, I think they would be awesome on a vintage style card or scrapbook page.

We were having such fun cutting out snowflakes that we decided to try the Textured Impressions embossing folder, Northern Flurry, shown here on Cherry Cobbler card stock.

Next we tried the Bigz XL die, Tasteful Trims. It cuts 4 different trim and border shapes and because it works with your Big Shot, you can cut a wide variety of materials. We used a piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock and found that each piece is 12 inches long - perfect for a 12" x 12" scrapbook page! The large "rick rack" piece would make great waves on a beach layout or layer 2 of them together to create a mountain range. Can't you just see them cut from patterned paper on Halloween or Christmas pages?

We also experimented with a Christmas collage background stamp, some Glass Glitter, and the new Waffle paper. There are over 40 pages of gorgeous things to create holiday cards, ornaments, gifts, scrapbook pages, and more available for purchase on September 1!

To make this card, emboss Elegant Eggplant card stock with the new Vintage Wallpaper folder and add a piece of Daffodil Delight (new color!) gross grain ribbon. Adhere to Whisper White card base. Stamp the flower images on Whisper White card stock using Elegant Eggplant, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Black ink. Stamp a sentiment from the set Watercolor Trio (in the Summer Mini catalog) on Whisper White card stock with Elegant Eggplant ink. Mat both stamped pieces on Daffodil Delight card stock. I was just messing around the other evening and came up with this card. First I stamped one of the cards from Card Games in Riding Hood Red on Very Vanilla card stock. Next I masked it and rolled the Very Vintage wheel with Night of Navy ink over it a few times. Then I inked a coin stamp with copper metallic ink and a pocket watch stamp with silver metallic ink, stamped and embossed them with clear embossing powder. The last thing I did was add the bird for a little dimension.

As promised, here's a card I made for my mother-in-law's birthday using the new Vintage Vogue set from the new Occasions mini catalog. The images are stamped in Crushed Curry, Pacific Point, and Wild Wasabi Classic ink on Whisper White card stock. I sponged the edges with Crushed Curry and layered it on a piece of Baja Breeze card stock stamped with an old script background. Her favorite color is green so the card base is a piece of textured Wild Wasabi card stock. The flower centers are Dazzling Diamonds (yellow flowers) and Turquoise Fine Cosmo Stampin' Glitter (blue flower) held in place with Zig Two Way glue. There are a few surprises in the new Occasions mini catalog. (If you haven't seen it yet, check it out on my SU web site or let me know and I'll send you one.) New style punches that are so easy to store and clear mount stamps! That's right! The same crisp, detailed images in rubber but with a choice between mounting them on traditional wood blocks or using clear acrylic blocks to stamp!
